Default Harwiring a Rechargeable Maglite

I want to hardwire a rechargeable Maglite into the Jeep and have some questions...I know that the cigarette lighter plugs usually contain a regulator/ inverter (not sure that's the right term...) to keep from frying the device. Is there a simple way to run the power from the Jeep to the Maglite without having to use the cigarette lighter? I want to have a nice clean install and always have a fresh light. Thanks guys!

you could always buy a lighter socket and wire it to the existing one but in behind the dash panel. this is what I was thinking of doing for my gps.

If you are using a maglight magcharger there’s nothing special in the lighter plug not even a fuse, I just removed the plug and wired to the back of the lighter socket with switched power, I do recommend putting a fuse 5 Amp in the red wire to the charger as close to the lighter socket as you can, I mounted the charger on the side of the seat frame using 2 stainless steel rivets, Holds very solid and clears the seat and door.
