Ah Yah but you do know that daytime running lights are the high beam element of the bulb Used full time at reduced output?

If the ProCal turns on all the lights around the vehicle that is not called daytime running lights. It's called turning on the full headlights.......OR NOT
Ah did not know...so it's not just daytime running light specs? By definition that is only a dimmed headlight feature without side or rear illumination, to which I pointed out is kind of, well, not going to help in a diminished visibility situation.

Low beams on, 6 volts
High beams on, 6 volts
Turn signal lamps on, 6 volts
Fog lamps on, 6 volts
European on, full OEM voltage (all the lights as if you turned on the headlights)
Daytime Running Lamps off ) 0 voltage
ProCal refers to all the configurations collectively as Daytime Running lamps, so that's the terminology I used.

I think your one of the 1000's of people miss-reading the new law. It states the headlights must be turned on while the wipers are on. Not automatically turned on, just turned on. Link to explanation. PS; I have never heard of an auto that has the feature you described anyway. .
OP, If it's the in your state, purchase a programmer or see if the dealer can activate it. Might be cheaper through the dealer if you have no other need for a tuner. It is a nice feature albeit just a matter of convenience.
True but that entails buying a tuner and also defeats the purpose of the 'lights on for safety' regulation. Daytime running lights are just dimmed high beam headlamps. Turning on the full headlight turns on the rear and side markers as well. during rain and low visibility conditions tail end collisions are the killers. Not head-ons. Still need to use those 2 left hand fingers. On a side note I'm pretty sure it's easy to set the JK up for full time daytime running lights without a tuner. They are mandatory around most of the world. I'd be checking my manual to see if it requires a flash for people that want it. Sure cuts down on people pulling out to pass when you're heading toward them. Mine came with it.
I'm talking about daytime running lights direct from the factory which have been the law here since 1976 or thereabout. 1/2 power high beams with no other lights. Only meant to avoid head-ons.
