Hella BM 1000 fogging up... and clue how to fix it?
I have A pair of Hella black magic 1000... 100watt lights. One keeps fogging up on the inside... now the bulb itself is inserted into the light... it's not a sealed unit. When leaving it on for a long period of time I see a little steam come out... but it always fogs back up? They have been on for 9 months and used for hundreds of miles... the one side just won't clear up. It's not like we had any rain this year... we had two months without one drop this summer and only a little bit since... but it does not put out very good light in this condition. Anyone have this problem with a light and what did you do to get it to stop fogging up. The other side never has a problem!
Well I tried a few things... found something that has worked!
I put rubbing alcohol in the light... swished it around and it picked up all of the water... dumped it out... let it dry in the air first... then hairdryer... and it cleared up and has not fogged up again. Just having the lights on heated the moisture in the lamp... but as it cooler it would fog again... don't know how the water got int there ... but it is not fogging up any longer.
