Default help finding a fuse with current

I recently purchased a battery brain, its a device that shuts off access to the battery as power levels get low. by doing this it ensures that you always have enough power to start the vehicle.

in order to make sure that the BB does not shut off the battery while the vehicle is running it instructs you to connect one of its wires to a fuse that has current when the motor is on, and no current when the motor is off.

Can anyone suggest a good fuse to use? im a little clueless when it comes to electric stuff

Also, it says to remove the selected fuse and connect the exposed end of the wire into the fuse box - how would i do this?

Thanks in advance!

See this thread, and pick the empty fuse location that has power when the key is in RUN only.

probably a dumb question, but do i just insert the wire into one of the holes? will it hold? or is there an attachment that i should crimp it onto and then plug it into one of those inlets.
Get a fuse tap, as shown in the thread. A wire that carries power from the TIPM should be fused.

do those ports have power when the engine is running and no power when the key is turned towards the on position without the engine on (all the dash lights on but engine off)? or do they have power at both of these times?

They have power when the key is in the RUN position, which, for all practical purposes, means when the engine is running.

If you turn the key to the run position, and don't start the engine, they will still have power.

They won't have power when the key is in the ACC position.

I don't think you will find a location that is hot only because the engine's crank shaft is actually turning.

That makes sense, appreciate the help.
