Yeah, yellow wire with white tracer- I just added a camaro rear-view mirror w/ map lights in my JK... so I could have some lights up front, the dome behind me just wasn't doing the trick...

I would do this though:

Disconnect the battery (Don't want to blow a fuse)
Splice into yellow wire with white tracer in the passenger side rocker panel with your (+) wire to your LEDs (You can daisy chain-- no need for a splice to each individual LED)
In the passenger side floor board, near where your door connects you will have a grounding screw that your door harness is grounded to. 10mm nut, take it off... place your (-) wire from your LEDs there.
Reconnect your battery

Done

That should do the trick!

That's kinda the same thing I just finished doing. I put my home link mirror from my 350Z in my JK. I didn't even use the dome light wires though. I needed ignition switch power for the mirror. I didn't want to have to turn on the dome light every time I went to open the garage door. I ran the wires back through the firewall and grounded at the battery and power from an open ignition fuse slot in the tipm. I wasn't planning on doing that so right now it's a crude connection until tomorrow. My mirror works now though and I'm happy with it.

One in front passenger foot well just behind the kick panel. That pulls right off with light pressure. There's also ground right there if you need it. The other is in back passenger area and you can just pull the carpet back. I had 2 wires there that looked the same and acted the same.
i just followed ALL YOUR STEPS AND I GOT EVERYTHING to work, but when i turn the key the lights go on and stay on, what am i doing wrong???

Yeah that was my problem with my mirror. I ended up running the wires through the firewall on the passenger side by the battery and tapping into the tipm there for switched power. I'll be honest I'm not sure where the switched power is for you. Did you put in LEDs in the dome light or is it accent lighting?

I installed blue LED light strips in my 2012's footwells and wired them to the dimmer circuit (tapped the dimmer wire behind the power window controls) so they come on and off with the running/instrument lights, and can be dimmed with the dimmer control on the column. Works great!

Which wire did you use behind the pwr window controls?

When you wire the LEDS to the dome light wire, are you able to use the dimmer to dim the LED's ??
