Default Help w/ Wires Through Firewall

I'm wiring my second set of lights, and need to get the wires through the firewall. On the first set, I ran the wires through the hole on the left side of the dash, which is behind the side air vent. I don't think the hole is big enough for another set of wires. Anyone have any other ideas?

I may try to squeeze them through that hole, but I just don't see it happening.

There's 2 other options- one is that there is a similar hole on the passenger side

The other option (which is the way I went)- if you have an automatic transmission, there is a hole on the drivers side where the clutch cable goes thru on manuals. The hole is pretty large and has a rubber plug/grommet in it. It is very easy to poke a hole thru that plug and run wires thru there.
The one I used is on the passenger side. I don't have enough wire to go to the driver's side. I've got to figure out a way to squeeze it through, unless someone has an idea.

There are holes filled with foam on both sides of the dash behind the vents. Just tape your wire to a straightend coat hanger and push the wires through. That hole is large enough to get two 8 gauge wires and a 22 guage wire through each.

I saw the hole meeeself when I first ever picked up the jeep and assumed it was metal over/behind the hole: a few days ago on a CB install I ran into this wire issue: came inside, logged on and saw tha' same hole being mentioned and thought/wondered HOW did they drill there........................ it aint no lie: it is a Big hole that is in fact only *covered* over with plastic sheeting backed with a little wierd insulation....you can poke right through with a finger, pencil, etc.....

just a thought by why do you need another pair? you already have a 12+ souce for your existing lights, just pull 1 wire, and common the power....it's only a couple of relays so wire size shouldn't be an issue.

I ran my wires through a large rubber plug on the driver side up and to the far left. So far I have my wires for my brake controller and by aux lights. The hole is pretty big, looks to me like I could put a very large harness of 20 wires or so if I wanted.

Yeah, I'm not exactly clear on which hole you were talking about in your first post, but I have two separate harnesses running through my rear windshield washer fluid hose grommet in the drivers side upper dash/firewall. Might want to give this a shot if you haven't already. It's right above the brake booster if I remember correctly.

Right where the arrow is- IS the best spot without having to drill

Nah, that's not the one I was talking about. I used the inconspicuous grommet with the hose coming out of it in that's a little hard to see in the pic, but it's there right above the one mentioned. And, since I have a soft top only, there was no hose to get in the way so I could take full advantage of the entire space. I even feel I could fit a couple more wire harnesses through the space I used with no problems at all. Plus in using the grommet, I still have environment protection without having to use any kind of silicone or anything.

if your going to use the hole where the gromit for the hard top washer fluid hose be careful not to puncture the line or you will have a mess of washer fluid dripping on your feet
