Default HELP! where is this supposed to go?

So I've been having some really strange issues with my A/C and power outlets. I checked fuses and everything looks good.

however, I found this just dangling under the hood.

To elaborate a little, I added coil spacers this weekend (didn't have the problem until then)..

Today on the way to/from lunch the jeep acted like this:
accelerating to 40 mph the air kicked on for a bit. slowed down and it kicked off
turned 90 deg left turn air came on straightened wheel out and turned off.
parked car and opened doors air came on and kicked off.

so can someone tell me:
1) is this wire the culprit?
2) if so where the flip does it go?
3) what else can I look into as a possible source of this issue?

Default Not sure

Not sure where it goes but it looks like the ground wire.
I am not in the Jeep today or I would go and take a look.

That appears to be a ground strap. I'm guessing that could certainly cause some issues. Not sure where that one goes though. Most ground straps I have messed with in the past (non jeeps) attach to either an area of the frame or to the firewall.

yeah, I guess I should have mentioned I thought the same thing and since I was toolless (i know pretty rare) I wrapped it around the neg battery terminal.

if someone can figure out where it actually grounds to I'll go try that and report.

life sucks without a/c

Default Might

Might be a body ground. Reconnect it to your hood.

That loose ground wire maybe slapped your A/C and shorted it out?
I would check fuses first!
