Default HELP! with wiring.....

Ok....my plan was to install a new outlet in the back side of the center console:
I cut the hole, inserted the outlet, plugged the red and black wires into the back of the new outlet after removing screws on side console plastic, ran the wires on the side to the center cash console, removed plastic from dash center to access the outlet wires.....
Then I cut the wires to the power outlet and reconnected red lead to new and old outlet reds and black lead to new and old outlet blacks....replaced plastic....

NOW, there is NO power to old outlet, nor the new outlet! I checked the fuse box and fuse is intact.

Where did I go wrong?

Did you splice into the side that is switched with the ignition? Turn the key on and try it.

Default Thanks

I appreciate the responses.
I did check for power with the ignition, and no power still, so I guess either I spliced the wires poorly, or I have to look for a breaker to switch.

If you go to autozone/pep boys they have adapters that splice into your Cigaret lighter that you can run for like 3 m that should be enough to go under your carpet and into your center console. Patch up the initial splice you made buy one of those it T-clamps in for nice easy attatchment no soddering. Hope this helps

Default OK....no power

So I checked the fuse box to the dead circuit, and there is NO power.
Anyone know if there is a central breaker that can get tripped, and if so, how to access it?
Or is there some other reason that I have caused the power to this circuit (M7) to be interrupted?

Thanks in advance....

Is it possible that you have shorted this circuit to ground? Have you tried disconnecting all of your wiring and testing at the fuse box again?
