Default HID flicker, or HID vibration?

I just found out that my HID bulbs do "flicker" when on high beam after the vehicle has been moving, and somewhat when the engine is running. When the lights are on by themselves, the light is absolutely steady and flicker free.

The VVME bulbs retract into their housing when the high beams are on, and I guess the support in the retracted position is not enough to keep them from vibrating and tossing light around. This is not flicker, it is the bulb bouncing around. There is going to be no way to address this with electronics.

I am wondering how much of the "flicker" people are getting is caused by this. Has anyone who tried to address flickering turned their headlights on a wall when parked and seen what they look like? Mine are rock solid, when the engine is running they bounce around a bit. Probably 1/2" back and forth at 10'.

I have the DDM tuning HID lights and when I turn my hi beams on, they bounce like crazy as well. I was thinking of some kind of silicone of something to put around it to maybe secure the bulb or something. It drives me crazy though

DDM's website has a write up on putting a diode or something. I never did it because I don't need the brights since the hid's are so freaking bright.

I don't know how the DDM bulb works, but the VVME bulb retracts into the base about 1/2" when high beams are on. You can hear and see it.

I don't think you can fix it. It is just a byproduct of the way the bulb works.
