Default HID Headlight Issues

I recently had a HID kit installed in my 2009 JK, and whenever the headlights are shut off they create a very noticeable humming noise. The HID do not have daytime running light capabilities and that might be the issue, but I am wondering if anyone had that issue, and if they know a fix for it.

The humming goes away when the headlights are toggled on.

That is normal for older magnetic ballasts. The newer digital ballasts do not hum because they use solid state circuity (and much more efficient).

The hum doesnt mean anything is wrong. But if it is just annoying you, then yea the only fix is to get a digital ballast.
