Default HID help

I did some searches but did not find all the info i'm looking for.

Soon I am getting some new lights for my bumper. I started to see and read more about HID's and am interested in them. Other than the "brightness" factor what are the differences / benifits over traditional lights. Life? Draw from the battery? I already have windshield mounted lights, rear lights, cb, gps nav. I will have a winch soon and 2 more lights for my new bumper...

I dont know if HIDs will be a better or worse option because of the amount of things i have connected to the battery already. or if it matters at all.

I saw the recent post about the MORE dual battery tray. maybe this is something i will need to get. or should get to be safe..
