It's basically a safety precaution, not allowing DVDs to be viewed. The only solution is a Lockpick. They are a little pricey but offer many features. Not only does it allow you to view DVD movies but add up to four cameras and nav access while in motion. Check it out! Works Greg and keeps my kids entertained while driving.

Your vehicle has to be in park to watch a DVD. Someone was wise enough to figure out that it's probably not a good idea to be watching videos when you're driving since there's other people on the roads that you're driving on who value their lives even though other people who tend to drive and watch videos don't.

Be aware that in some states, like Colorado, it's illegal if it can be viewed from the drivers seat.

Maybe it only works with the AES (rear seat screens).

Manual pdf maybe?

(I never tried watching a DVD until after I got the LockPick.)
