Hey, can you PM me about the box?
Price, when I could have it, etc.

Also, I read somewhere that you mount your amp under the back seat, to the bottom of the seat? Also interested in what I need to do that. I have an Alpine PDX-V9 and a SD3-10.

Mid/High are Focal 6.5's but that's not important I'm just proud of them.

I was going to ask if you noticed an appreciable change in audio quality between the 4100 and the C5500 but given you also changed the amp that could effect things overall. How do you like the C5500? If I'm reading the specs correctly it doesn't have hardware GPS, but then neither did your 4100.

I've had a couple of odd audio glitches lately myself with my right front woofer/tweeter. I can't tell if I have a crossover going out, or if I have a channel on my 7100NEX acting up. It comes and goes and I'm REALLY hoping it's just a crossover problem.

Hey boss! To answer your question about the C5500 simply.

1. It doesn't have Nav, but does have Carplay which you can technically simulate Nav on the headunit. It's not a huge deal to me so I don't mind not having on the new unit nor the old one.
2. I don't notice any difference in audio quality. It seems that the power ratings between old/new units are the same and all of the EQ adjustments are identical as well.
3. The biggest positive is the screen. Not only does it look better than the other unit, but the capacitive display feels better to the touch. Not a big enough sell to go out and upgrade to this unit.
3a. After using this unit for a while though, I've noticed a few negatives. One is the poor phone call quality. There's quite a bit of crackling while taking calls now. The other negative is bluetooth range. Not that I need to walk across the street and have my bluetooth connection still in tact, but there are applications where I use the Jeep for entertainment purposes and not being able to move my phone 2 feet from the driver side door without the connection going out is a little disappointing. My 4100 didn't have any of these two issues.

Regarding your speaker going in/out. I would definitely inspect your amp / crossover first before the headunit as it seems more likely for the problem to start there (or with wiring) before the headunit. Good luck with your setup and let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!
