I want to remove MYGIG, help.
Ive decided to get rid of the MYGIG and try something else. Its just not for me. Has anyone removed their MYGIG and both antennas? Any pics or suggestions? Ive sold it to another member and I want to make sure I get everything out for him to make it work in his JK. HELP.

There is a GPS antenna and Siruis Radio Antenna that go with my gig. If he already has the siruis antenna in his jeep then no need to remove your antenna. I think the Siruis Antenna is up in the passengers side roll bar. GPS antenna should be behind radio.
Congrats on the sale... I was about to offer you $1000 today. But I don't really need it, so no biggie.
Removing the head unit is simple, GPS antenna should be right there. The Sirius antenna will take some work to trace its route up to the roll bar but shouldn't be too rough.
I'll be interested to see what you end up with. I'm torn between springing for the MyGig or going full aftermarket. Lots of pros and cons both ways. I want it all: Nav, DVD with remote screen for the kid, BT hands free, etc. MyGig requires a lot of hacks and extra bits. Aftermarket requires extra wiring/adaptation and most don't do voice recognition like the MyGig which can be a huge asset since I'm not finding any good steering wheel audio controls suitable for a Jeep.
Let us know what you go with.

The DNX comes with the nav unit, it's a $800 add-on for the DDX.
The DNX7100 is one that I'm considering too. My wife has a similar Kenwood with Garmin nav and hands-free in her car. Only things I don't like about the DNX are that the interface is really cheesy. Odd graphics and the Nav part is a completely different (Garmin) interface. The graphics don't match at all. The other thing I don't like is the lack of a real volume knob.
Other than that though, pretty cool unit.

The only deck I could find with a knob that I liked is the Pioneer. But it wont do dual zones. I want to run DVD in the back for the kid with earphones and then listen to the stereo myself.
Has anyone else removed the MYGIG yet?
I got my price quote for parts from Crutchfield. I didnt think it was too bad. I should have just ordered the Jeep without the MYGIG.

I love my kenwood... I'm sure you'll be really happy with it. I have the retractable screen excelon KVT 819 DVD, and I just installed the iPod cable and GPS add on ( you can get them at amazon.com for real cheap, but they're 4th party stores... crutchfield wanted 800, and even though I love them, I got it for 600 at bestbuy.com)
I do miss the lack of a control knob too, but it makes up for it in other ways.
I'd love to see your full system. I'm curious about adding amplifiers myself, and very curious about your woofer install. I don't know where to mount the amps safely. Let me know how it works out!

I usually love Crutchfield. They're not usually the cheapest, but they offer great value over the bottom feeders. They typically provide all of the instructions you need, necessary brackets, dash fascias, wiring adapters, etc. that you need for your vehicle at no extra charge. They will also take stuff back no questions asked if you're not satisfied. Great customer service is sometimes worth paying a little extra for.
However, if you're doing a full custom install anyway, or you're installing in a vehicle that they don't have any ready-made adapters for, it may not be worth shopping with them.

But, keep in mind, they're not including the JK radio harness with head unit sales! Plus I think they're asking over $100 for their harness. Just say no to that, and get the harness on ebay if you buy from them!
I've heard this is a pretty good adapter providing VSS, Reverse Light and Dash Light breakouts. However, I've heard that you lose the F/R fade function with the Infinity system. Small price to pay for less painless install I guess. Especially if you get to keep the Infinity system in tact. I'm fairly impressed with the stock Infinity setup... the speakers could use an upgrade, but other than that, not bad for a stock system.
FYI, they're also throwing in a free backup camera with compatible head unit purchase.
Again, if you're going for the full system... can't beat Crutchfield if you're looking to buy the whole lot from a source that will support you.
Unfortunately, if I go for the DNX7100, I may have to go eBay or Amazon. I only need the head unit and it's much cheaper from other sources... Still can't decide if I can put up with the sub-par graphic interface of the Kenwood though.
