Default Iicense plate light and 3rd brake light questions...

I'm sitting here in the driveway trying to figure out the best way to tap into a running light to wire my license plate light into.
I'm using the Off Road Only kit.
I have the brake and ground hooked up with no problems and I tried to tap into the same hot wire for my license plate light...but apparently 3rd brake light doesn't light up when running lights are on (duh!).
Are there any other wires that I can reach easily without drilling?

Thanks
RJ

All the wires that you are looking for are under the carpet right side after you open the back door right under the window. hope that helps.

I zero wiring experience but I did the following:
Where the license plate light actually comes out I snipped the wires to the light. I removed the brake light on the left side and slowly pulled those wires back into the cargo area through the plug in the back left corner of the tub. I traced them back along the tub and fender well until close to back seat then spliced in an extension and after wrapping in corrugated tubing ran it under the carpet under the backseat to right side, back down the right side of tub and right fender well under the carpet. I removed my sub and ran the wires through the plastic mesh that carries wiring into the plastic cap along the inner tailgate. This is where I spliced into the ORO wiring and also where I snipped the factory 3rd brake wiring and spliced it into the oro wiring then replaced the cap and left the plug inside the tailgate. I snipped one of the little plastic support pieces for the vent flaps off and ran the plug into the tailgate from the light where I connected the plugs. This is all assuming you are mounting your plate in the center of your tailgate.
