Default Infinity rear subwoofer enclosure

Can the rear stock enclosure be modified to fit a larger sub. I have a 12 inch laying around that I can put in if it will work

I do not think it's possible to get a 12 in the factory enclosure. Also it does not have enough air space for a 12 even with poly fill.

My opinion.

If your 12" is a shallow mount you may be able to pull it off. My first sub in my 2013 was a modified stock enclosure for a 10" shallow but it only required .5 cu ft. Most 12" shallows require 1 cu ft so you would have to modify the crappy plastic enclosure and make it larger by fiberglassing and expanding outward (which would obstruct your rear storage) or upward (which would make the box extend above the back tub)

Here"s the 10" enclosure I did. It sounded good with the hard top on but disappeared with the top off. I sold it and went a different direction. I ended up putting two 10" subs under the front seats. Great for top off summer driving.

Mattk11,

Can you provide additional details as to the subs under the seats? Parts, Pics?

The low-end range of the stock subwoofer is pretty weak. Would like to find a better alternative.

Thanks!
Dave
