Default Installing IPF 968 Driving Lights

I just installed a new Smittybilt XRC winch bumper. I am adding IPF 968 Driving Lights (55W) and would like to know if I can splice the wiring to my existing fog light wiring and switch since I no longer have fog lights with my new bumper.

Depending on the year [09-11] no. The CANBUS computer system will read too much power being drawn by the lights and will shut them down. You will need to incorporate a relay to power the lights if you want to the run them off of the switch.

Just installed a SRC bumper and I bought the exact same driving lights, curious if you had any problems yet because I am going to splice mine in on Monday when I finally get some free time?

I don't use them much but no problems when I do. However, since they are off road only lights, I think the law requires they be on a separate switch. I Just make sure I don't accidentally turn them on when I'm on the street.
