Any ideas?

Few ideas...

1. The Amp is installed wrong... they are feeding the amp not with RCA's but with a conversion line in right? Might be using the wrong Lines for it or something wacky...

2. The speakers in the rear are coax no? are they using any sort of crossovers ?

3. Did they run new speaker wire throughout the whole setup?

4. Is the stock Amp still in place? (not sure about the '12's but that is not where the amp is in the 2007-11's its under the steering column)

5. go back to that place and show them... what do they say about it? Its obviously not installed correctly or some equipment is faulty at some point... they should be more then happy to help you get it all situated.

Not sure if I believe or understand what they just told me but it was that the Deck 130(RES) has no Rear Speaker wires from the head unit but that it goes to some "box" which does "something"...so I have no idea what he's talking about. I'm wondering if they split the sour off the front or from the "box"!

Any idea about this "box" he's talking about.

Why would you want to??

Might be best to start a thread about it though, because then you would get a lot more traffic for that particular setup.

Any idea about this "box" he's talking about.

The harness on the stereo that comes out of the RES has front speakers and rear speakers and plugs directly into another harness, that then goes to the infinity Amp, which then goes to front speaker, then a crossover then the tweeter, and to the rear sound bar and to a sub... the infinity amp as I understand is a 8 channel amp 2 up front 2 in the back, and 4 bridged down to 2 more into the sub... I am basing this off of other installs that people have done and picking apart the stock amp and analyzing.

This is all speaking of the factory upgraded Infinity setup...

If there is an aftermarket head unit, then they they should have used a PAC setup so that the harness plugs in and everything is pinned out proper and works...

if they went the cut and splice route then they could have f'ed that up majorly....

judging by the sub, and standard radio I want to say that it seems like these guys pulled the stock infinity Amp (not knowing what to call it other then "a box" because it doesn't look like an aftermarket amp... and then fucked up the order of the wiring when putting your amp in its place...

Which is strange because your amp is not where the stock amp is... so it doesn't make sense...

What did they offer as a solution? Since they put stuff together and now it obviously doesn't work the way it should?

Chatted with my installer - good guy - and he's resolved to review it, fix it - and make me happy. That's all anyone would want. When we are all said and done, I'll post the solution to anyone else looking for JL gear with Stock Deck.

Thanks all.

Awesome

Good luck with a speedy fix. Good that the guy is taking ownership and going to make sure he gets it resolved...

I would say that they tapped the rear sound bar for signal which isn't full range. Plus it's also eq'd and attenuated, so not good for signal. They should have tapped the front for signal. Of course the head unit is driving the signal which is eq'd so that is why jlaudio makes the cleansweep to remove the factory eq'ing, which is only meant for the cheap factory setup.

When the factory head is driving the signal, it is eq'ing off the bass before the amp so the amp is only amplifying the eq'd signal.

a lil heads up on my build too...
I met with some dudes at a serious sound shop that I found and they seem like really good people with a lot of knowledge...
The guy who is going to be Fabing the box for me is heavily suggesting I move from a forward firing setup to a downward firing setup for the 3 JL12w6v1's basically saying with top off doors off its going to NUKE my bass with a forward fire... I REALLY liked the idea of the forward firing and how it would basically conceal everything but he has some plans for the setup that will make it kinda stealthy too or at least something that wont be able to be damaged... and will sound a lot better.

Still trying to plot the details and stuff... and still contemplating other stuff.
excited to hear about your MM's !
Let me know how it ends up working out - that will be the next step (assuming I ever finish this one).
