So I finally had a chance to talk with Audiocontrol last night, and they said it could be one of two things:

1. The stock head unit is not seeing any resistance on the other end, and, therefore, not sending a signal to power up the LOC - I know this is not the case as I touched a speaker to the wire on the LOC and got sound out of the speaker, but no power to the LOC.

2. I don't have my jumpers set correctly.

Hopefully, I'm just an idiot and can't read a diagram. I'm going to check it tonight to make sure the jumper is in the right location. I'm hoping that this fixes the issue - if so, I deserve to go the whole week without sound

If not, I guess I'll try #1 again (doubt it will work), then another call to Audiocontrol.

Will post an update tomorrow.

Your artistic ability looks similar to mine - I think I put a wire diagram somewhere in this thread.

So the good news is I'm just an idiot and can't read a diagram - I switched one of the jumpers on the LOC and the whole system powered up.

The bad news is it sounds like shit...

I'm getting distortion in all of my woofers - it's worse in the front (with the drivers' side being particularly bad).

It almost sounds like clipping, but I don't think that's what is causing it - if it was, shouldn't there be equal distortion in all of the speakers?

Anyone else had an issue similar to this?

The reason you are using the LOC is because you are keeping in the stock head unit right? so you want to clean sweep the setup so there is no pre-programed audio mumbojumbo and you get a flat eq going to the amp right ??

Or am I thinking of something else ?

No. You're correct.

I got the LOC with an equalizer in it (link)

Most loc's have a gain on them, try turning it down all the way, turn the head unit 3/4 of the way up or so, then bring the loc gain up till it distorts slightly, then back it off just till it goes away. That way the signal is optimized.

So I turned the gains on the LCQ all the way down (previously had it a little less than half way), and that has definitely helped, but I'm still getting some distortion in the front driver speaker - it almost sounds like it's bottoming out in the speaker pod.

I haven't had a chance to change any of the settings on the amp yet, but I'm going to try taking the gains down there as well when I get out of work.

Should I be doing anything with the filters on the amp?

Also, I have the cross overs set to 0 db (the other setting is -3 db). Does this make a difference?

Thanks for the help!
