Default iPad and OBD

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a solution for the iPad to monitor our vehicles diagnostics. I think it would be fantastic if I can plug my iPad into the OBD (or wireless) and monitor transmission temps, oil temp, etc. Having all this information in one place and on a nice platform seems so appealing. I have seen some mounting kits for the iPad as well so it makes sense that this would be available. Linking the iPad to a nice GPS would make it even better for the trail (or having GPS capabilities from the iPad). Anyone have info on this? Or, is anyone willing to desing this?

There is already an app for that - no joking. I checked yesterday for an ODBII interface for the iphone, and they do have one. Checkout Logworks in the App store.

the Rev2 app would be the best choice for OBD info from the computer but you need to get the appropriate adapter, which is the PLX Wifi adapter, just google it or ebay the item name as PLX wifi, and you will find it. I haven't bought an adapter yet because of the price but will later after im done installing my ipad

As for the Ipad im assuming you have a wifi only model because the 3G version does come with the GPS chip, but have no fear, cuz I am here lol, neways if you jailbreak your Ipad like I did you can get an App called BTstacker, this is essentially a bluetooth app that will connect to a bluetooth gps receiver. Thats another gizmo ill add later to the ipad incase I really see major traveling. Also I believe there is alternative GPS app for the Ipad that has preloaded maps so you dont have to connect to the internet like google maps. Sorry I dont know the name

www . ot-2 . com

(Why does it keep making the stupid url clickable??)

I see this advertised all the time on the jeep commander forum. I have been meaning to get the android version for my EVO 4G phone as I have seen someone else on this forum use it. Communicates over bluetooth so no need for the USB port.
