Default iPhone to Aux sound quality

I picked up the aux cable to play music from CD's loaded in my iPhone. Am disappointed in the quality of the sound- flat. Volume is OK. Is this typical for the compressed format from CD to PC/iTunes to iPhone to JK Aux port? JK 2007

Mine sounds great if I turn the volume on my iPhone down one click, set bass to 4, mid to 1, treb to 0 and fade 3 to the rear.

do you have the infinity system, or base, or mygig?

One of the biggest factors is how you ripped the CD to your computer before putting it on the iPhone. what bitrate / media type did you use?

I have the stock sub and speakers infinity. I just used stock iTunes on my laptop to read the CD's and sync to iPhone. Fortunately my Granddaughter does not care about her stuff like Philadelphia Chickens and Colors and Sesame.....

I will try your settings. It is a surprise if one does not turn down the volume and switches to FM or a CD.

I have another 13 hour drive to ME so this time I thought music without commercials would be nice to have.

Also make sure the following is set to Off: Settings > Music > Sound Check > Off
I've found the sound check feature which tries to equalize the sound from one song to the next effects sound quality a bit. Also I don't use any of the EQ settings. You may want to do the same.

You EQ settings could be set to your small speaker headphones. You should try changing your settings with the AUX cable inserted

Mine sounds just like a CD or satellite in a basic X stereo.

It is a double ended mini connector. I got it at the Apple store, made by Monster cable, very flexible and a bit shorter that I would like. I have been messing with settings (had 13 hours to do so) but I am not at CD quality sound yet.
