Default It's Water-tight! (Remote Key Fob)

Just in case anyone is curious, I learned today that the alarm / remote key fob is sealed pretty well from water.

I accidently left it in my pocket, which was submerged for over an hour in 3' of water while I was bass fishing. To my surprise, no water entered and it worked without issue.

Wow you are lucky, mine OEM with remote start got trashed from sweat, I don’t know how it got in but it was all white corrosion inside, my dealer (that has now gone out of business) replaced it under warranty they even said it was not common for that to happen, I am much more careful with them now.

I forgot mine and took it swimming in the gulf of mexico for a few hours. It didn't hurt it one bit.

Another test (not planned of course) that the remote key fob just survived was going through the washer & dryer--and it still works!

I need to take better care of my $hit...

Good to hear! Now I don't have to stash my keys someplace on my jeep when I go surfing!

Swam with my key in my pocket and it has gone through the washer and dryer with no problems. if you look at how its built its actually sealed fairly well.

God damn! Now if Chrysler's underhood electronics were as durable as that we'd all be in great shape
