Default Jeep jk 2008 wont start. Can you help?

Have a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited. Recently it has been giving me problems starting. I turn the key and I hear a click and then nothing. If I shift from park to neutral or drive then back to park it will start. I brought it to the dealership and they said its the wiring harness connection to the starter. I DON'T BELIEVE THEM. Does the wiring harness get better all of a sudden when I shift? I don't think so. If there is anyone out there that can help it would be a huge help! Thanks

Chris.

Neutral safety switch is out of adjustment. It just need the shifter linkage adjusted.

I have the same issue from time to time on my 07 is there any easy way to fix it or a write up to fix this. I usually while in park just nudge the auto shifter forward a bit then the it starts fine.

Same here. Many people have that problem. Just put it in neutral and start. That always works if that's actually the problem. There are other jk issues with starting.
