Fellas,

can someone explain why how and what the ideas and princples of the the pulse width modulation on the alternator is?

Please spare no details as I am a industrial electrical fitter by trade and I work in power generation so I understand the electrowizardry.

Well, I'm guessing that it is the power source for the communication network.

Wel I may be reading things wrong, if so my cockup. My question arises out of the pulsing on HIDs after retrofitting and the kit needed to stop this.

So is the pulsing just coming from the control comms network or is it some kind of regulation on the alternator output?

pulsing is coming from a control module to regulate the light output of a standard halogen bulb. it is doing that to keep the light the same intensity, regardless of the alternator output (rpm). this does not get along with HIDs because they require a ballast to light and stay lit. Altering the power source to the ballast causes it to turn the light off, but not be able to restart it. It's nothing like a halogen.

Default Heres the solution.

Here's the solution. I did this over 2 years ago and I have never had a issue with the HIDs since.
