Default Just Ordered a GoPro Motor Sports...

Headed out to Ouray next week for the big jam and thought having a GoPro would be well worth it. I ordered the Motor Sports package b/c it comes with windshield and related mounts.

Anyone else used the GoPro on their JK for trails and related? Love to see/hear your feedback.

I know the battery is rated for 2.5 hours - did you get this. Also, recommendations on number of SDHC cards.

Thx!

Congratulations. These things are like crack. I just ordered a second one on Friday... and a Quadchopper for aerial footage. According to GoPro any Class 4 or higher SD card will work. I personally like the PNY Professional Class 10 16 GB cards. If you use the 960p setting they fill up about the same time the battery dies (~4hrs). They are pretty cheap too. I just ordered 3 from PNY today for $24 ea.

I think you will find the sticky mounts more useful than the suction cup. I bought the suction cup separately and don't really use it much. There are a few other company's making mounts for it too. Check out hxxp://www.eyeofmine.com for some good tips.

Here are two videos I made.

Nice vids. How often do you hit Badlands? I'm only about an hour or so away.

I've made a few Jeep videos with it and love it. Make sure to tie a line off to it. I ran over mine once and broke the suction cup.

Assuming your location is correct (Ft. Wayne), the Badlands Off-Road park is about 2 1/2 hours away. Just so your not wondering if you missed your turn or something. I'm in Columbia City, so I am only 20 mins away from you. I am pretty sure I have seen you driving a few times. Anyway... I am trying to go wheeling once a month this year. I have been to the Badlands three times. I should be going to Bundy Hill on the 25th of this month. I haven't been there since the begining of April.

We did have a local group getting together once a month for food, but eveyone has been busy with summer stuff. We should be picking back up here soon.

Thank you. Most of the video was shot using the flat sticky buckle mounts. I have several stuck to discreet locations on the Jeep. I have used the suction cup mount on the windshield too. I noticed in your videos the suction cup on the hood picked up a lot of vibration. It's a shame because the perspective was really cool with the Jeep bra. You might try some image stabilization software, if you haven't already.

Thanks. I am really new to the whole video thing. Including these two videos, I have made two! The first video I used Windows LIVE Movie Maker that is included with Windows 7. It's actually pretty good for free. The second video I used Sony Vegas Platinum Studio 11. It's a lot more feature rich. I used trials of Avid Studio, Cyberlink PowerDirector, Sony Vegas, and Adobe Premiere. I also consulted with a professional video editor. The end result being Sony Vegas was the best fit (Price/Performance/Features) for me.
