Default KC bracket scratches

any one have a way of preventing scratches in case i dont like my lights and dont want scratches after i take them off?

After scratches and some rust, I bedlined my hinges. Looks so much better

After some scratches and rusting, I bedlined my brackets. Looks so much better

mine are starting to rust some too, i'm thinking, repainting a couple coats or bedlining. that'd be cool.
