Its not our back roads its our main highway. I do about 80-90kmh in the night. But there are many many moose on our roads. Its not uncommon to see 10 or more during a 2.5hr drive. Hence needing proper light, not just the newest.

Guess I'll consider myself lucky then. I dont have a problem with stationary objects on the roadway even with the OE low beams @ 120KmPH. And , where I live, using off-road lights on public roads could cost you more money than a collision.

Way of life here. They can pop out of the woods quickly so the further you can see the better

I am thinking about getting the KC 70w HID pods - they're expensive but to me they may just be worth it.

I currently have some no name LED lights on windshield mounts that were advertised as 6000 lumens each. While they are bright, I dont think they throw light a great distance. When I used my stock high beams it appears that they reach further out (albeit dim).

So I'm thinking LED just isnt there compared to HID.

Anyway, there is one site that I got some decent info about the retrofit HID kits for certain lamps (HELLA 4000, Lightforce)

I'm using the 55w hid in my hella 500driving beam. They light up WAY further than the stock high beam. To the tune of 1200m. Insane light.
