I received some of the Quadratec brackets that mount in front of the grill for Xmas along with some KC lights. I'm debating on mounting the lights on the A pillar or above the bumper. The lights are 130W KC SlimLites (pencil beams).

I'm open to A pillar suggestions or other options. My criteria for windshield mounting:
don't want to bend the antenna
don't want to impede my visibility as the driver
good quality powder coating

I mounted mine using the KC brackets. I really thought they would block my view but I don't even notice them. I've had them on for about a month now...
