Default Kenwood P-NAV6019 Navigation/HU

who has this HU?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...P-NAV6019.html

i was just wondering how yall liked it in the JK, as well as in general

looks like it has an awesome screen, and it's also compatable with either XM or Sirius radio, as well as a rearview camera

had any problems with it? how is the navigation, and which XM tuner/antenna did you get?

also, how do you feel about having an HU without a detachable face in the JK with soft top/top down?

thanks!!

*edit* also, can you make nav changes on the fly while driving? and can you make it so dvd video will show while driving? i dont want to watch it myself, but it'd be nice for passengers. if not, are you able to listen to the audio of a video dvd while driving like with the 6stack stock? *edit*

I am also thinking about having this unit installed with the back up camera. I want the camera because my Jeeperman tire carrier makes my spare impossible to see past. I would not want to run over the kids bikes, toys, ect.... You can navigate and watch DVD's while driving. I will be adding the Sirius tuner. I got an installed price of 1950.00 which includes Sirius tuner, Head unit, Navigation unit, Back up camera and of course all of the adapters to bypass the amp and retain all of the factory wiring.

No problem. I will have to stop and get a copy of the quote the store gave me with the part #'s on it. I lost my copy. Should have it today.

I also have a Kenwood system that is very similar to yours. But I am not sure if I should install it because of security reason. What are you guys doing for security?? If you don't have an aftermarket alarm, then what is a secure way to fasten the player to your Jeep??

i was wondering about this as well, possibly some kind of cover for the center console there would be good? like a waterproof cloth cover with elastic that you could hook into the defrost on top and under the console on the bottom.

it wouldnt be SECURE, but it would protect your HU from a light sprinkle if it started raining with your top down and you not at the car, and it would also put your nice HU out of view when your top is down, and therefore not tempt people who just pass by

Got an after market alarm. Works better than the factory has shock and motion sensors.

The back up cameras give me an idea. I think the Jeep Rescue concept had this.

A camera mounted on each wheel showing the inside of the wheel and the suspension.

Mount a small light on each corner of your jeep, figure a way to get a 4 way split screen or something.

Then you could offroad in the dark without a spotter and see whats going on at each wheel. I think that would be great.

Then I will get a back-and-forth flashing red light on the bumper and get it to call me "Michael".
