Key cutting off engine...help!
I'm going to try to give as much info and I know, but to be quite honest, I am not very educated about Jeeps. My boyfriend is the one who knows about Jeeps and vehicles in general, but he is out of town.
Anyway, I have an 09 Rubicon Unlimited and I have been having an intermittent issue with my key when starting it up. The engine will turn over and start normal, but after a couple seconds will cut off and the red security light in the instrument panel will flash. Also, sometimes when I use the automatic start, it will start up and run fine, but as soon and I insert and turn the key, the engine will once again cut off. It seems to only be 1 of the 2 keys.
I took my Jeep to the dealership last Wednesday, where they upgraded some sort of software, and said something about a flash message when hooked up to their computer. I got my Jeep back last Friday and they said everything should be fine.
Today I had the problem again. I took it back to the dealership. Basically, they are telling me unless the problem is happening more often, they can't fix it. This problem happened about 4 times which I was at the dealership, but only once when the electrician had it hooked up to the computer. I ended up just leaving the dealership because they were so rude there and didn't really seem like they wanted to fix the problem.
Also, after my Jeep was in the shop last week, the tire pressure light came on. After I start the Jeep it flashes for a bit then stays on steady. I don't know if this is just a coincidence, or if it has something to do with anything they did. I don't have stock tires on my Jeep, and I'm pretty sure that they don't have the pressure sensors.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem before. I am planning to go to a different dealership tomorrow. Hopefully they will be more friendly and knowledgeable about Wranglers. I know I'm not very knowledgable, but they just seemed like they were feeding me bullshit.

If it's only with one key then the other may be a valet key? I have a 10 JKUR and my auto start will cut off with the key ONLY IF the doors are off and I DIDNT press the unlock button.... It's a safety feature.... I'd call Chrysler (I'll see if I can find their number.... I might still have it from when I had a problem, if I still have it I will pm it to u) and complain about the problem and the attitude they gave you. Then I'd try another dealer... Something is causing it to do it and Chrysler has to correct that... Hate to say it.... Maybe a lemon? But I seriously doubt that.

Yes, the key works occasionally just fine.
I am going to try a different dealer tomorrow...the one I should have taken it to in the first place. I will probably call the general manager of the dealer that gave me a problem, and maybe Chrysler as well. I honestly do not think that they were addressing the problem correctly, but who am I. We will see where I get tomorrow.
