Kicker/Mopar 364 watt 8 channel amp replacement (77kick46) opinions ?

I haven't seen any opinions on this amp. Anyone installed it ? Did it cure the quiet soundbar speaker issue ? What are the specs on it, such as the rms wattage etc. Also what is the 8th channel for ? Extra sub or something ? At $202, this seems like a decent deal to get better sound over the crippled infinity amp.

From what I have read via the forums the Kicker amp is useless does nothing for the system.

ive heard the Dodge Nitro amps are plug and play and fix the soundbar issue..although it does end up causing vibration in the soundbar which you will have to resolve via dynomat or something along that lines.

iirc the nitro amps can be had for about $132 on the mopar website.

It's not that cut n dry. Some of the Nitro amps have different firmware, some fix the issue and some do not. 1/2 way through 2008 they contain a different software version that stopped fixing the issue. Also if the dealership flashes the amp after you install a nitro amp, it goes back to the default wrangler settings.

I'd really like to know if the kicker amp delivers full power to the rear speakers or if it grabs the shitty factory settings from the wrangler can-bus.

Here is the response I got from kicker regarding this amp:

"We do not attenuate the amplification in our system. *All channels have 46 watts going to them. *Our amp is EQ’d for our system not the infinity system. *So, we can’t say for sure what our amp will sound like with the infinity system. *"

does anyone know what wattage (rms) the infinity amp pushes to the speakers ? I suppose the 8th channel is to drive an extra sub.

Anyone have any more info on this amp yet ?

I am on my second Kicker amp-- replaced under warranty. Sound bar speakers work great and can be plenty loud without distortion.
