Default Kicker speaker upgrade

Was thinking about replacing the stock speakers with the Kicker speakers. Has anyone done this and is it worth it (about $125) for four speakers...two on soundbar and two below dash. I have the stock radio, not the Infinity upgrade. Any insights would be appreciated!

I did it, and I'm happy. There's less distortion at higher volume, and the speakers are just visibly beefier than the factory speakers.

Are they better than other aftermarket speakers for the price??? Maybe... Maybe not.... But it's designed for the Jeep... and finding a 2ohm setup aftermarket might be tough....

So I'll say, if you have the money, you'll notice a SLIGHT improvement...

Default Kicker Upgrade

Where did you find the set of four Kicker speakers?, and if or "when" you replaced was the drivers side front speaker box hard to get at?

I bought mine at Justforjeeps . com . They're fairly local, so I went to pick it up at the dealership...

The front speakers were both tough to get at. The plastic, luckily, it fairly pliable though. I did find using a ratchet drive with a screw-driver bit is helpful for getting in there though.

I upgraded my speakers using Polk's.

I did however, just install the kicker amp for the stock HU, I .E. non infinity.

I like the upgraded amp a lot, that with the speakers really cleaned up the quality of the sound I get now.

The driver's side was a pain the a$$. You can get it out, but it does take a bit of time to fuss around with it.

After doing the driver side first, the passenger side is a piece of cake!

I have the kicker amplifier too. I expected some louder sound (on the highway, top down at least), but honestly it didn't get any louder. I will agree, the higher volume has less distortion, but did you find the volume levels improved any??? (just out of curiosity).

I was somewhat disappointed as well with the volume. It doesn't seem to be any louder, but I am certainly getting far better quality sound which lets me crank it up all the way if I need/want too.

Without sinking a bundle into a front to end sound solution which would go into a questionable interior for getting high end quality sound, I can say I am happy now.
