Default kicker speakers

So I am about to replace my factory speakers with kickers. Not looking to go crazy just get a little better sound. I have read that many people say 6 1/2" in the dash and roll bar, which is what i was going with. I went to crutchfield and they recomend 6 1/2" in the dash and 5 1/4" in the roll bar. Whats the deal here? Is there a difference in speakers between different years? Was it wrong on crutchfield? Will 6 1/2" fit all the way around?

Amazon has the OEM Jeep Kickers from a dealer in NC. $65/set + shipping. Just got mine yesterday after I was considering some others from Crutchfield. From all accounts here, these are a great upgrade for the stock system (and cheap to boot).

No they are not the Mopar replacements. they are just 4- kicker DS series speakers.

i never buy mopar stuff. They get everything from other companies and put a mopar sticker on it. Even if it takes me a little bit of work to install things, id rather do the work than waste money. keeps me busy with projects.

you came here for some advice, so, here's some advice. Mopar is the sales channel, but these are made by Kicker (well, by a factory in China like everything else). These are a direct fit and more importantly, they are 2ohm impedance and designed to work off the factory amplifier.

100% chance the ones you're looking at won't sound better than the ones I posted but it's your rig to outfit.

I replaced my dash and sound bar speakers with the Kicker (part# 77kick10) upgrades from the dealer. I decided to go that route for the fact that they just plugged right in to the factory wiring (no splicing). I noticed a big difference in sound quality as soon as I turned them on.

I put 6.5" shallow mount Polk db651s marine speakers in my roll bar. Fit just fine, all I had to do was trim up the mounting bracket a bit and hook up the wire harness that came from Crutchfield, simple.

I ordered the same ones PGT is showing. Same dealer. Got here in 3 days. Went to craft store and bought some poly-fill. Sound bar was easy, passenger side a little more difficult, and the drivers side a pain in the a$$. I have a 2009 Wrangler Unlimited and the speakers plugged right in. They sound much better now.
