This was my experience. To clarify: Base RES system, no Infinity or other fancy stuff. The Kicker speakers--just the front two coaxials, were sufficient to make the stereo system sound like you'd expect an OEM factory stereo system to sound. If you want more, plan to spend more.

After Speaking at length with MattK11 and Skippman, I am going to move forward on a slightly different path. Short term, bass blockers so I don't blow the 3.5s in dash...may take them totally back out. (will have 3.5s and 6.5 Kickers for sale soon) I am going to start with Pioneer 4100nex head unit, Precision Power Amp, Matts underseat sub box, and Sundown 10". Only thing I have to decide on is the component speakers. Traveling to few shops tonight for a listen. Thanks for all the help and advice. Will update once I move forward!!!!

Those PS165V's on sale on Crutchfield are a steal to be honest.

You guys are killing me!!!

Everything I have read and seen those seem to be about the best out there!!! (Problem with it being 6.75 or mounting directional tweeters?) Just doubling budget!!!

If I order headunit from crutchfield...I am assuming I need their most expensive install kit also. (keeps steering wheel controls and Uconnect.) and wiill probably go with IdataLink Maestro Sat1 instead of Sirius receiver since jeep already has one.

You guys are awesome!!!!

Went to local chop and listened to the PS165v's...nothing compared. Guy was not happy but I came home and ordered them. (He looked up price and said NO way he could price match...) One less thing on list to buy!!!

Great choice! The head units are junk. The Infinity speakers and amp in my 2011 actually sound very good with a good head unit (Pioneer AVH-X3700).

On Crutchfield they say it doesn't fit my '2011 Wrangler. Are they too deep to fit into the dash or sound bar?

Glad to hear you liked them! For the price they're pretty hard to beat. I was looking at the PPI P65c3's for a while but couldn't find a place I liked to mount the tweeters which are VERY directional in that kit. I was honestly prepared to pay almost full retail for those Focal's when I went on Crutchfield to check a couple of specs and found that steal. The only other speaker I would have personally considered was/is the HSK-165's from Hertz but those retail for about $550 which is $250 more than the Focal's.

It's not a depth issue, but a speaker diameter issue. They'll fit. There's several people on the forum here and elsewhere who are running them. Having not installed mine yet (was waiting on an amp part) I'm assuming the problem to be the screw mounting holes. I believe someone else said you had to drill and tap new ones, which in plastic isn't a huge deal. The factory MOPAR speakers only use 3 screws placed equidistant around the speaker (like a peace symbol) while aftermarket ones use 4. I'm assuming since Crutchfield can't provide a direct fit adapter plate they just say it won't fit.
