Default LED upgrade issues

Hi everyone, im new to these forms and to the jk in general. I have a 2009 jku with the stock halogen headlights, and my right housing got a huge crack from a rock while driving on the highway. I decided it would be a good time to just upgrade to a led kit, so i ended up getting a pair of the axial led halo headlights. I had heard mixed results with the brand but decided that id give them a try and now im kinda regretting it. Once i got them i got everything hooked up i turned them on, and they worked for all of 5 seconds when i heard 2 very loud pops and saw smoke and both lights shut off. When i checked, both of the anti flicker harnesses were smoking heavily. I took one of them apart and it looks like it blew the capacitors (ill post some pics when i get a chance). They looked extremely cheap when i got them so i knew they would probably go but im surprised they immediately blew. I would like to use the lights still, since i cant return them, but im having a hard time finding good anti flicker harnesses online. I did see someone say to use a rally harness instead, but i dont want to spend $120 if i dont have to since thats about what i got the lights for to begin with. So what i want to know is what is a good harness to use, or if there is a better replacement like the rally harness, and if anyone else has had this issue with the axial or other brand harnesses before?

so I had the same problems with a halo kit I installed, I 1st swapped the lights to see if it was the light etc, and found the same issue you have. I just searched anti flicker adapter for jk and got a set for around 40bucks worked till my son in law jumped his car incorrectly with the jeep, now im having all kinds of error codes etc.
It seems most of these kits come with super cheap units, I've replaced the caps in a few before as they weren't blacked out like yours with much success, could have been bad caps, it happens.
You should be able to locate some, if I remember I got a set on Amazon and have been fine, the connection sux, but zip ties and electrical tape corrected the coming loose issue. I think extreme terrain has a couple of different designs ranging from. 20 to 50, also i used some dielectric grease on the connectors as well.

Looks like those capacitors could not handle the voltage applied. Not sure if it is worth installing the same uF rating capcitors in a higher voltage and of course they are DC capacitors so are polarity sensitive. Othgerwise the previous post states the recommendation. I worked in the electrical industry and have hear many loud explosions from failing capacitors. That pop is a capacitor failing usually from over voltage or stress failure.

Sixty4x4, couldn't agree more, seems to be a consistent issue with alot of the Chinese junk, comes up alot at my work, usually bad components or installed incorrectly, can't count how many test products I had to fail for that exact reason.
