I am finally beginning some mods involving switches. I have definitely been inspired by a few people on the forum with some fantastic looking custom switch boxes, etc. Right now I am just trying to establish where i want to place my switches. Its one of those decisions where if you dont get it right the first time your left with holes all over your dash.

Please elaborate on materials used, logic for where you placed switch(s), how happy or dissatisfied you've been with your choice.

As always, this is worthless without pics.

Please everyone post your switch locations and help other make an educated decision on what works best for them.

Yea I have see that thread before, didn't provide much inspiration.... hoping to see some new stuff; lots of creative people on here

 

Cool part about my box is that we only cut 3 small holes in the jeep. One for wires and 2 for mounting brackets, which are just two small L pieces of metal that slide in and then I bent the box into place, and it stays.

 

I was going to do some fancy aircraft type toggle switches, but the ones provided with my lights by Hella did the trick.



I installed them on the A pillar, there is a lot of room behind that panel. My wife loves how it turned out, and when the wife is happy... well you know the rest...
I put them there for easy reach... I am very happy with their location.

 

Very nice A Pillar switches. I'm a fan of keeping switches away from passengers who don't know what they do or just want to see what happens when they are flipped.

 

I like the pillar idea that may work out for me i am thinking of buying the mastercraft Baja RS's but getting the heated option. Mama wants a more comfortable seat. I dont know I have to run a switch but that is were it is going to go.

 

Here's my location. It takes a little finagling but i think since they are out of sight and not easily switched on, they work perfect for me.
