Lights flicker and dash cluster going crazy please help
Yesterday I had to jump my 2018 jk with my noco booster and after the dash cluster was lit up like a Xmas tree and the gauges were going crazy, as well as head lights flickering as I drove, I also head something clicking on the shift nob almost like a lockout switch trying to engage or something. So when I got home I put my multi meter on it and while it was running I was getting about 14.4 v so I disconnected the battery for the night and checked the battery the next day and it was 12.2 v just sitting there can someone please tell me where to start with this
Jeeps, Dodges, and Chryslers of this era are very finicky when battery or charging issues exist. During my time working at an auto auction I saw many of these that would not stay running without a jump attached, and just about every warning light on the dash would illuminate. I would start by checking the grounds and connections at the battery. The battery should also be load tested to ensure it will maintain sufficient charge. The “at rest” voltage is fine but doesn’t reflect the true condition of the battery.
