Which dispersion pattern do you put where? Windsheild mount vs. bumper/hoop mount? Fogs, driving, spot, flood, HID?? Thanks for the input

Long range pencil beams on the windshield, driving lights on the bumper and fogs below or in the bumper.

The type of light doesn't matter ( HID, LED, Hologen ). It's the beam pattern that counts. These are only recommended locations for the best performance of any particular type of beam pattern. Once you have a better understanding of what the patterns look like and how they are use, the more opportunities you will have to tweek the installations.
