Default Lockpick or NavTv Issues?

I've done some searching but haven't found any recent threads, what's everyone's experience using either a coastal lockpick or a NavTV setup? I'm trying to install a backup / front vision camera setup with a 430n rhb in my 13jku. I've seen in a few places people turning their radios into bricks with these and I don't want to do that to mine. I also don't want to pay a dealer in SoCal $150-180 for the camera unlock (serious prices in OC / LA area)

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I've used the LockPick an didn't have any troubles with it. I only had a rear camera hooked up though.
