Default MY Gig Help

I am in the process of installing a My Gig I got on Ebay (right now...posting this from the garage) and when I turn it on, everything works, except it will not show the DVD video...it plays, I get audio, but no picture.

The Jeep is in Park and the parking break is on...

Is there a setting on the MY GIG to show the video??

If you get to a dealer with a starscan, they can. Go to wkjeeps.com for the instructions. It only takes a minute. It will not unlock video in motion.

Good Luck Man

Ok, I will have to try that...but I have a few more questions?

Has anyone else had this problem? My show video button and many of the video controls are grayed out...

What is the star scan tool (I assume it is some tool used by the dealer) but how do they connect it? Do they have to remove the radio? ( I just dont want them messing up my LEDs behind the dash...)

How much (if anything) will this cost?

This sux...I wanted to play with it tonight!

Thanks!!

The reason the buttons are grayed out is because the function is turned off. As soon as they turn it on , you should be fine. The star scan is a tool that chrysler makes to troubleshoot their vehicles. I found a guy that worked at the dealer and he did it on the side for like 30 bucks. It doesnt take long at all, just print out the directions for him

I know someone took the time to identify all the states that the video was disabled and listed them, I'll see if I can find it, but I beleive NJ was on teh list, so the dealerships will not enable it as they could get in legal trouble for doing it.

Here's the link to the thread. You should be good, NJ is not on the list.

Does the dealership normally charge for this? How long does this take? Do they have to remove the stereo?

Thanks!!

No the update is free, just your time. You know the dealerships can you leave it all day for a 20 minute task?

And no they do not have to remove the stereo.
Just plug into the OBD port.
