PLACES UPDATE ZIP FILE ON TO DESKTOP.........
The Gracenotes database identifies music tracks and provides song, artist and genre information for your music stored on your MyGIG hard drive or played from your MyGIG CD/DVD so that you see the actual track information instead of seeing tags like Disk 1 or Track 1. Updating your database will keep you up to date with database information from the latest songs.
The Gracenote updates are locale specific as opposed to radio specific as people in different parts of the world tend to listen to music from different performers so the database of songs is different within different global regions.

Just purchased a new Unlimited Rubicon yesterday with MyGig RER and had a couple questions on system software and updates. When I put the 2.045 DVD into the drive, it asks if I want to upgrade from 2.107 to 2.045. It seems intuitive the RER in my Rubicon has a later rev of the software and I should *not* install anything. Gracenotes is version 2.057 btw but I really don't see any reason to upgrade since everything on the hard drive will be fully tagged .MP3 files.
Anyone else with this same version (2.107)?
Should I install 2.045? (I am guessing NO!)
Does Gracenotes provide any value for fully tagged MP3's or am I missing something that it provides beyond song/band/album/genre/year/etc... information?
Thanks!
