MyGig Thoughts

Thanks! I most definitely will. The guy says he has sold dozens of '07 and '08 units to many '07 Wrangler owners and not had a single issue, guaranteeing it'll work. I'm still somewhat skeptical, but he says if it doesn't work for whatever reason, he can ship other models until we get it right.

If I creat a thread for mygig owners to post what build date the jeep is and what model mygig they are running you think there would be much intrest? I think it would be good to have some sort of reference availible.

You weren't kidding about how easy the install is. My unit is a RER 05064400AH and it worked like a charm. I have yet to toss some mp3s on the HD, but the navigation system and sound is terrific. I'm really happy with it. Thanks for the feedback!

What is the build date on your Jeep?

hmmm. So yours is a '08 or '07? Mine is january 2007, and my part number was 5064080AG
I saw a website selling mopar parts that said:
'07 uses 5064080AG
'08 uses 5064400AH
simple as that

Mine is an '07 using a pull from an '08. The guy that sold it to me said the only difference between the 4080 and the 4400 is the HD is 10GB larger (and comes with a more recent version of the software, of course).

If that is right, then I wish I would have bought the 4400. But, $260 for a new one shipped is probably the cheapest I could ever come out. You mind me asking what you paid for that 4400?

Well, you definitely got a better deal than I did, but there wasn't much of a selection on eBay at the time. I paid a grand for mine, but it came with the GPS and Uconnect cables (which I have yet to try).

A grand still beats the $1860 or whatever at the dealer plus all the cables and antennas.
Now if I can just find a Hard drive from a broken one for cheap to do some experimenting with.
