so i got a mygig ren with uconnect and ipod cable from ebay got it in my jeep and everything works great but the uconnect when i press the button it says no uconnect now i know you have to go to the dealer to get it to work but the ipod cable works perfect witch i thought had to be activated by the dealer as well am i wrong in thinking that i can have an ipod work thas connected to the uconnect work but no uconnect

 

either update your mygig software or go in the engineering menu and turn it on. I would just update to newer software.

 

that was the first thing i tried but there is no setting in there for the mic i think thats only for the rer

 

Did you get the mike with this radio?

 

Once my My Gig was synched with my phone it worked fine. It did take some time and several steps but it works great. All you have to do is press the uconnect button and you have hands free comms.

 

yes the mic and connect box all came with the radio and i don't even see any settings on my my gig for bluetooth i think i am just going to go to the dealer and have them star scan it just wanted to save the 95 bucks they said they would charge me for that service

 

You should just be able to plug the mic into the back of the mygig and if it isn't new enough software go into engineering mode (by pressing menu and both up and down seek buttons at same time) then go to "enable JK HF+VR" and change value to yes. Exit menu and it should work. What version software is on it?

 

Got the latest software no option I think that option is only on the rer

 

So I went to the dealer and they said they need the rvp code to activate the uconnect and what I have is a take out and no idea how to get this code

 

Did you ever get this problem fixed ? I'm having the same issue
