Mysterious unused wire loom and connecter found under hood
 

Found these wires unused under the hood, one on each side.

it has 3 wires,

black
white
white/yellow

i tested all the pins with a test lamp, only the ground was connected. also tried switching on all the lights with rear fogs and retested.... no current.
i have an export model Euro spec 08 X with rear fogs only.

i am suspecting:
-that it could be for the fog lamps but it has no power because it is missing some sort of fuse
-it is used for the U.S specs headlights, and it was left disconnected.

What do you think it is for? check yours if you have it, this is kinda fun:D

Based on the location I think that is the plug for remote start.

hmmm. Wow i guess this is it, My JK does not have headlamp level control. so it must have been left unused from the factory.

I wish I had that harness in my JK. I would love to hook up the headlight level adjustment system!

That would be kind of fun to have but after looking at all the stuff involved to make it work I don't think it would be worth it.
