4 metal rods?

My KC's only have 1 'rod' and it kinda acts like a spring and clips into a retainer to keep the bulb in place.

Take the back off of the other and look at it. I took one apart last week and they are a pita to put back together. Make sure that you line up the lens so that it will be in the right position in relation to the screw hole. I took a set that I've had for 7-8 years and rebuilt them. KCs website has all the gaskets, wiring, bulbs and even the bezels to make them new again.

I had the exact same shit happen to me! Four metal rods rolling down my hood. I stuffed 'em back in the best I could but, I'm sure i didn't do it right . I can't get the lens assembly to fit tight like it was. ???? Kind of a stupid design.

The Slim Lights have 4 small spring-like tensioners in them.

Did you get it back together? It is pretty simple and holds the reflector in well if they are in correct. The ends slip under a groove in the outer housing in various locations and kind of form a square against the reflector.
You do need to rotate it so the one screw hole lines up for housing.
