Can anyone tell me one the left side power outlet which color is power and which one is ground? the colors of the wires are blue/white and black/white....


which is which?!?! trying to tap into it to power my cb

Id assume the black one is the ground but the best way to find out is to use a meter or a test lite.

You should run a wire directly to the battery with an inline fuse to isolate alternator noise that you might get from the cig outlet.

Go straight to the battery...
I have no idea about the wire colors, and don't think they should be used. It is also safer (no chance of overheating the wire/connector from the Jeep.

alright, i ended up running it straight to the battery. Thanks for the input.

I originally figured it would be just the same running from the cig lighter. Its a 12v source right?

But i ran it to the battery anyways. Thanks for the replys though

Understand you've finished your install and connected directly to the battery, but others may want the answer to your question. I connected to the cigarette lighter (for switched power)--the blue/pink wire is hot. I have no alternator/spark noise.

I did the same without a issue! Rewire it so you don't have to worry about the CB being left on.
