Default Need some help... 2-8" subs or 1-10"

What you think??? Making a shallow box to act as a fake floor/lock box with either 2 8" subs or 1 10". Since the box is shallow my cubic" is limited for what I want the finished product to look like. I will have approx 10"x30" lock box. Should look as if there is absolutely nothing in the back when you peek though the rear window or if the top is down. Starting my build tomorrow if all goes to plan!!

Widen the box to accommodate a 12 or get a square 10 like a kicker L7 or L5...I had a buddy that got 2 8's and was never happy with the bass response....I have a shallow mount kenwood 12 in a 1 cubic box and it sounds great in my 2dr, with the 10 or 12 you could always port the box to get more if you wanted

Pics?

I found the two threads around here where one guy did two 8's and another did a single 10'. Both were shallow mounts and looked good. One guy cut out the plastic stock cover above the speaker so it wouldn't be muffled. I'm worried about the bass response in the JKU.

1 big one will be better. Maybe you could hide 8's in the rear doors though.

I would avoid the 2 8"s. My friend had them also and was never happy. He did got to 1 10'' and like it a lot more. 2 is not always better than 1

I would recommend a 10" L7. You could go as small as .66. I am running one in a ported spl enclosure that I built and it really pounds. Everyone that sees/hears it can't believe it's only one 10.

I would recommend 2 of the Alpine Type R 8s. Very impressive.

8s don't 'give enough' if you listen to more than old school r & r. A 10 would be nice. A 12 would be better to cover all playing fields.

That said, as mentioned above if you can accommodate for a square you don't have to worry about any of what I said above. Lol

Solo barics are wicked. Lots of punch, lots of low low low low. Like a girl in apple bottom jeans?? ;-)

I'm running a single Alpine Type R 10" in a ported box and it hits hard. It also helps the I did Type R in the front (component) and rear. Head unit is a Kenwood KVT-714.

I took out the back seat because I never used it and bolted a 1 inch thick sheet of plywood using j bolts hooked around the back seat attachments in the floorboard, which then I bolted the sub box and that rubbermaid container too, they arent going anywhere. I'm not done with the sub box I've got to build a frame around the amp and then I'm going to cover it with an old soft top I have so its not quite so obvious....btw it fit behind my back seat when it was in
