Default New 2014 JKU

Just picked up a 2014 Unlimited loaded (Billet Silver, Saddle Leather, Side Airbag, NAV, painted top, etc...). MSRP was $40,060. 3 days in, I am starting my mods slowly. Picked up the Jeep All-Weather mats, rear taillight brush guards, and fuel door. Then today I upgraded all of the speakers to Pioneer. I installed TS-D1720C in the front and tweeters, plus put TS-A1675R in sound bar. I left the factory sub. I had to shave the tweeter housing about 1/16th of an inch for the proper fit. I will say the sound difference is incredible. Clarity and volume are where I'm happy now. No amp and no sub and total cost was $400 installed.

Nice, I've heard nothing but amazing things about the D series Pioneer line. If I upgrade I will be for sure going with them.

My question is why did you cheap out on the rear speakers??

I didn't cheap out. It's kind of like a matching set.

Plus, the speakers on the sound bar will never sound that great because they are angles straight down with a poor acoustic orientation.

Even with that, the system sounds great at this time.

I kept the stock 430N head unit and stock sub and I did not add an amp.

The base is a little weak so I may still tweak.

The matching set would have been the TS-D1602R ( TS-D1602R - 6 1/2" 2-Way Speaker | Pioneer Electronics USA ).

But if you are happy with the way they are now then I say stick with them!

Do you happen to have any pictures of how the tweeters look installed?
