New amp, new speakers, low volume
I will start by saying uuuggghhh
I changed out my HU to the Kenwood DNX 6190HD last year and yesterday I added a new Alpine MRX-V70, and Alpine SPS 610C speakers to the front and Alpine SPS 610s to the sound bar. Everything is on but the volume is really low. Lower then it was before I added everything. Clearly not the right set up?
I know everything I added is correct but I didn't do anything with the infinity amp so I am wondering if that is the issue? I fiddled with the gains but they minimally changed the volume. This thing should be much louder.
The speaker wires are running from the amp the speakers; the RCAs are running from the HU to the amp. I didn't put the sub in yet. Do I need to tap into the harness of the HU for anything or some how bypass the stock infinity amp?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!!!
After closer inspection, I am considering connecting everything to the HU and bypassing all the existing links to the infinity system. That seems to be much simpler. If I am using RCA jacks from the HU to the amp and run new wires I am assuming I don't need the existing speaker wires for anything.
I am clearly not the rocket scientist I thought I was . . .

I replaced my system on my 2013 jku sport without alpine system, HU kenwood Bt 755 hd and 4 jbl 628 touring nice speakers plus they came with nice adapter bracket and a sound ordinance powered sub, no amp and it sounds great for the price.
If you are going rca from the hu to the amp, then speaker wire from the amp to the speakers, then you are set up exactly the way you should.
Gain is not volume. What voltage is the rca out on the head unit? If its 4, then normal should be where gain typically is. If 2v then fullish. If 6v then almost full negative.
From there take a look at the eq on the head unit and your crossover settings on the amp.

So I decided to stop dorking around with the factory stuff and the existing harness and the aftermarket harness and bypass it all. I will just find all the wires I need to hook the aftermarket HU to the new amp, speakers, and sub. This will be cleaner and much simpler install????????
I suppose I will just leave the "extra wiring stuff" in just in case . . .
Although could never find an answer to whether or not the factory system is interfering with the poor volume???? I suppose I will answer that question before the weekend in over?
Thanks

If your Kenwood was plugged into the stock harness, then its not using the amp at all. Run new wires.... Only use the harness for constant and switched power, ground, illumination and that's it.
Everything is hooked up sound from all speakers but it is no different then the HU, maybe even a little lower volume. I have no idea. As is there is something that needs to be turned on somewhere?
Nope....
As long as your head unit only has the power/switch power/illum coming from the stock harness and you made your own ground. You ran did not wire any of the speaker wires to anything (at the head unit), then ran RCA back to the amp and made sure you followed the polarity correctly for each pair (+/-), then ran new speaker wires from the amp to the speakers ensuring the same polarity, have the amp powered by the 4awg with a correct inline fuse, have a good clean ground wire.... then it should all be good.
I replied in your other thread since you dont seem to want to continue this one as well with setting up the sound.... so hopefully that helps.
If all else fails... drive out to a car stereo place and just ask if one of their techs can take a quick look at it. Hint that you may be in the marketplace for another amp and subwoofer setup soon but want to get this one working first. Most shops dont mind spending a little time looking over your setup if you might be a customer.
