Default New Head Unit Radio and Steering Controls

Hey Everybody,

I wanted to see if you all have any suggestions for which head units/manufacturers will work with our steering wheel controls (uconnect, volume etc). I am thinking about one of the nice Pioneer units but I don't want to lose the ability to use the steering controls - especially for calls. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

IMO it's highly unlikely that all the features on the steering wheel controls will map to the pinout and connectors to any non-UConnect head unit.

However, the UConnect is a very common device given that Chrysler seems to be standardized on it ,so it likely there is an adapter from your favorite Audio equipment supplier to other popular devices.

You'll need the PAC adapter for the new head unit to work with the wrangler's wiring harness, plus a separate steering wheel control PAC adapter that will program the steering wheel buttons to the new headunit. Check www.crutchfield.com or call their customer tech support and they will steer you to what you need.
